Ethan

OK, Okay!!!  I know, it's going on 6 weeks now since the last update, but we've been busy, give me a break!!!  So much has happened, I suppose I will completely paraphrase and miss probably the most important parts, but here goes.

Well, it was Christmas.  Ethan had a great first Christmas, although he is far more interested in boxes and gift wrap than any toys he's gotten.  Since then, however, he has developed a keen interest in several of the toys he received for Christmas.  Thanks to everybody who thought to buy a gift, whether it was a toy, clothes, or money, they were all appreciated.

Ethan has been sitting very well on his own for awhile now.  He had even been reaching out to grab toys that were not entirely in his reach.  Occasionally he would fall down, and cry, but he soon learned to right himself about 90% of the time.  Well, the Saturday before Christmas, Ethan learned how to seat himself from his stomach.  I know that isn't really on the development chart, but I was proud as I could be.  He had become quite adept at scooting backwards, and he figured out that if he bent his leg a certain way, it would stay in one spot and he could lift himself to a seated position.  Oh, parental bliss.

Well, that went along nicely for about 2 or 3 weeks when Ethan first learned to crawl.  He's been crawling now for a good 2 weeks or more.  Not only that, but he's also pulling himself up onto furniture around the house.  He has accidents here and there, but overall he is a very strong crawler.  So much for the days when we could sit him on the floor in front of a bunch of toys and go into the other room.  Now we have to watch his every move.  His favorite target remains Barley, but my Dreamcast follows in a close second.  As of the last couple of nights, he's tried to tackle the stairs.  Unfortunately (or really fortunately) our stairs are wooden, so he has a difficult time getting up them.

Those are the highlights.  I promise to be back within two weeks with picture updates and more fun developmental milestones for our favorite son.
